    airbox mods.......

It is important to tweak your mixture if you do a box mod. With the extra air the mixture leans out a bit and you will lose power. Same is true for a new exhaust system because they breath better too. Busas are already lean at low RPM for emissions. I bumped up the idle and off-idle settings on...

120MPH and Caught, do you run?

Speeding is hard to not do on the Busa. In 6th at idle, we are getting close to the speed limit.

    What is your mileage?

The only problem with the Busa is range. I am getting 41-42 highway at sea level and about 44 at 6000 ft. In town it drops to 36-38 - 35 if I am racing. So with 4.3 usable gallons before the low light comes on, that means a range of 145 to 190 miles max between gas stations. Not quite enough in...

What is a StopStix? Nevr heard that one before.....

    tire pressure reccomendations

In the Pridmore school, he told me to run 32-36 on the track. It heats up better and has a wider contact patch. But it really is a trade off between steering and traction. More pressure means better steering but less traction. he said to never go below 30PSI. And on the street 36 or above is...

    Motorcycle Tie-Down Bar

Looks like a good idea as long as the pin that goes into the steering tube is strong enough. I guess if the front wheel is pinned down it doesn't matter that the bars are not kept from turning.

WHY IS MY BIKE ALWAYS RUNNING HOT?

Just an update on my header wrap. All day ride Saturday in temps from 45 up to 89 degrees F. Never did the needle get any higher than two needle widths BELOW the middle line on the gauge. I have a stock cooling system and just added that ceramic header tape wrapped around the down tubes from...

120MPH and Caught, do you run?

Thats one good looking Honda! Anybody have a hotdog? Actually, I had this decision on Saturday morning. Leaving the hills for warmer valley weather, a CHP hiding was in the bushes along hwy 80 above Auburn. I was doing around 80-120 - depending on my attitude of the moment when all of a sudden...

    WANT TO ENHANCE PERFORMANCE..

Are you saying drag strip or closed track? Either way the trick is HP to weight ratio. On a track the lower weight helps in braking too. We have no shortage of HP and torque, so lowering weight will help your performance right now. I would focus on "unsprung" weight like all parts on the wheels...

    Wave Rotors

I have the Galfers also. They are over two pounds lighter than stock for the pair. Stopping power is about the same, but they don't get overheated as easy as stock. Anyway the unsprung weight savings is outstanding. It does help turn in at speed. Less gyro effect.

    running 100 Octane

I run 87 always even at altitude (6000 ft.) with no detonation probs. Power is just as good as Premium and maybe better. Used to run 92 but tested the theory about running as low octane as possible without pinging. It works and I save money. My engine is stock inside with race pipe, Race filter...

    Aluminum fan?

You guys might want to go back through the mods threads to the header wrap one. I used the header wrap tape on my Akra Stainless header to keep the heat from radiating from the down-tubes into the radiator and oil cooler. My bike never goes much above the mid point of the temp gauge even in the...

    The Air Filter Debate

Long time guys, I have been hybernating since the bike is stored for winter. But this question brought me out for Spring! You may find that the BMG race filter will give you more HP than all the other filter choices ONLY if you fatten up the mixture by remapping. The stock fuel squirt is lean...

    TRE Mod

No, your right. that is what he will say and he is right. The sputtering is from a stock lean condition if you haven't mapped a PC and installed it on your bike. Richen it up and let the power flow. Your gas milage will improve too because you will make more power in that "off idle" cruise...
