As far as I'm aware from reading other threads, they're the same but the newer ones have a few extra holes or mounts. Don't take my word for it.

Just rebuild it.Seals go bad after a while. I've rebuilt mine and its been good for 12k so far. Do a thorough job, clean well, lubricate the seals with brake fluid. Torque correctly, all that.

When you try the start button in neutral holding the clutch, does anything happen? How's your battery voltage? Sometimes fuses just blow for no apparent reason. I was coming home one day and a fuse for my guages, tail light, etc blew, replaced the fuse, haven't had an issue again.

I'd say fuse, relay, or other connection issue. Doubt its the ignition switch. It's possible however.

I'd throw money on a bad starter or bigger problems. take off the inspection plug and see if there's any unusual feeling when cranking the motor by hand, then try hitting the starter and see if the clutch even spins. I had starter magnets explode on me, could be your issue.

I'm going to guess that you forgot to plug something in and now it doesn't start, unlikely that your timing jumped, it would still try to fire if it did jump. Check out your spark plug connections, ignition coils, injectors, etc.

I'm looking at doing this job pretty soon here, I intend to use the Vance & Hines HD cam chain, and a new OEM hydraulic adjuster. Aside from that I know there are numerous guides I could replace, any input on that? Which ones I should be replacing at the time of replacing the chain? I won't...

I fell across a post from georgiabusa_05 on here from October of 2012 saying to loosen things up and drop it off the front stand a few times and tighten it back up with the weight on the wheel. I did that and torqued everything to spec, it certainly did some good, I can get a full two rotations...

Not the amount that its dragging currently. I can't even get a full spin out of the front wheel.
