First Ever Motorcycle Vs Car, Motorcycle Win? It Was The Police Too..

It's been a long time since I've posted... Years actually. I'm still lurking though. I currently live in Sicily. This place is no holds barred, freakin bumper cars on the road type driving. I've been around the world and have lived in MANY different countries, this is the craziest place I've...

So what causes leaky fork seals anyway???

You can just cut up a plastic bottle and use it the same as one of those seal tools. I've re-sealed leaking forks with a water bottle and pocket knife before. They work pretty well unless the seal is completely worn.

Are we getting bored with the busa?

I'm never bored with the bike. If anything, I love her more each day. I think it's just that there is a search button on the board. Just about everything about the bike/for the bike has already been discussed. What's to say that hasn't already been said? This is why I lurk in the shaddows 90%...

Anyone mounted and balanced their own?

Wow, jack stands. Now why the heck didn't I think of that. Thanks! I thought about the Harbor freight balancer but the reviews are pretty bad. It seems there's very bad QC issues with it. My luck, I'd get a bad one and being stationed overseas there's no good way to return it. I even thought...

What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Fresh oil change with Texas Tea synthetic, coolant system flush/fill, cleaned/lubed the chain, cleaned/detailed and waxed everything.... Started out for a ride, wife screamed, went grocery shopping....

Anyone mounted and balanced their own?

I have a fresh set of Q2's that I'll be mounting in the next month or so and I plan do do it myself. I have the following equipment: 3 Tire irons......... . .. .... ...I guess that's it :poke: I'm really wondering just how critical balancing a tire is as I have never done it before...

Brake line change, what if my master cylinder goes dry?

It should feel pretty solid after a certain amount of squeeze, like you can't squeeze it anymore. If you went with braided lines it should have less squish, if you went with rubber line then they'll still have a bit of squish even if bled properly from line expansion. If you get no more bubbles...

Thoughts on Avon Storm 2 ultras...

Just ordered a set of Q2's. Don't really care about mileage at this point, I just want traction for the last year I have here. As you guys have said, I'm sure the storms are fantastic for the states but, these roads are far to slick for them. It's like ice skating even trying to walk on the...

Thoughts on Avon Storm 2 ultras...

I lowered the pressures and they still let loose too easily on the italian road surfaces. I know the roads a very slick here but I never would have imagined that they're as bad as they are. I'm looking for new tires right now. I just don't feel safe anymore. If/when I get back stateside, the...

Thoughts on Avon Storm 2 ultras...

Yeah, those pressures are cold. I'll lower them a bit and see how she reacts. Thanks for the input guys.

Thoughts on Avon Storm 2 ultras...

Just over 5k miles on these guys now and I have mixed feelings. They are fantastic for wear characteristics which makes them a great touring tire. They never have enough grip for spirited rides though. I find that if I grab a hanfull of throttle they break loose 90% of the time even after they...

Chain side plates rubbing sprocket, alignment perfect.

So it turns out I was actually loosing traction on the rear tire. The roads here in Italy are paved with round river rocks and marble dust as filler in the asphalt making them rediculously slick all the time. The Avon storm 2's are letting me down in the traction department. As far as the...

Chain side plates rubbing sprocket, alignment perfect.

Just did a new cush drive and added my roadlok about a week ago. The alignment is perfect and measures within a few thousandths of being equal as measured from center of axle to center of swingarm pivot. I even checked several times with the old string trick. The chain side plates are so close...

Why are Brembo brakes so much better?

I don't have them on my bike but I have ridden several bikes that have them. Some of the bikes had the Brembo masters as well but others did not. They all clamp so hard it's crazy. I would like to have them but I'm not willing to put that sort of cash into it. Right now I have braided lines and...
