Gen I Clutch is Too Grabby. Is Brocks the Only Fix?

Thanx for the tip! It's very much appreciated! :beerchug:

Gen I Clutch is Too Grabby. Is Brocks the Only Fix?

Thanx, guys. I ordered the Brock's Cushion Kit this morning. I upgraded to the welded hub and '05 clutch assembly, and it seemed better for a few launches and then the sucky, grabby demon came back. I'm not sure what I could do about getting more oil on the plates. I was running Motul 300...

Gen I Clutch is Too Grabby. Is Brocks the Only Fix?

I've got a '99 and I find the clutch far too 'grabby' to get a decent launch. I've already installed a welded clutch hub and the '05 anti-judder spring, washer and inner drive plate. Do I have another issue or is the Brock's Cushion set up the only fix? If I have to spend the cash I will, but...

16 bit ECU to 32 bit Conversion How to

I followed this thread and everything went smoothly. The most troublesome part for me was after ordering a PCV for my bike ('05 ECM in a '99) the FI connectors didn't match. I had to change the PCV connectors to a set of '99 style to match my harness. In retrospect, I should have changed the...

Turbo on C-16 Fuel, Ignition Timing?

No intercooler, but I do have water injection. The tune will be made somewhere between 1000 and 1500 feet in elevation. Please forgive my questions here; I'm not trying to cast doubt on anything you say, I just need to understand. I know a fair amount about motorcycles (worked in the mechanic...

Turbo on C-16 Fuel, Ignition Timing?

Thanx Murdered, I'm taking her in for a dyno tune Saturday morning. Going to have two maps made; one for 91 octane and one for C-16. I was going to pull timing for the pump gas but needed to know about the C-16. 11.5:1 sounds good for the A/F ratio on boost. I was going to go for about 13.2...

Turbo on C-16 Fuel, Ignition Timing?

I did a quick search and didn't find anything on this. I know that C-16 (120 octane from VP Fuels) will burn a little slower than the 91 octane pump gas that we can buy around here. If I'm running this race fuel on a Gen I Turbo do I still need to pull timing when I'm on boost? I'll be running...

16 bit ECU to 32 bit Conversion How to

The PCIII will do a fine job of remapping for your exhaust. There are a lot of maps that you can download from the powercommander.com website, but if you want it 'perfect' then you'll need a dyno tune.

16 bit ECU to 32 bit Conversion How to

I think you'd be fine with the existing PCIII. It really only needs the injector wires, the TPS and a way to count RPM. Since the PCIII connects at the throttle bodies the re-pinning of the ECM should have no effect on what wires you're hooked up to. The biggest difference between PCIII models...

16 bit ECU to 32 bit Conversion How to

If you're content with the way the bike is now I wouldn't change, but that's just me. If you're running a stock, or mostly stock bike, I don't think there's much, if anything, to be gained. If you want to change the mapping then a PCIII USB (light years better than the PCII) can be installed on...

16 bit ECU to 32 bit Conversion How to

I'll answer this the best I can, as it's been over a year since I've played with this stuff on mine. I changed my '99 to the 32 bit because I wanted to run a newer Power Commander (PCV) with Auto Tune, etc... The 16 bit system will take a PCIII. A word of caution on that, I later found out...

Sprockets? How Big and How Small?

Thanx Murdered, Yeah, I'm thinking about LSR (personal record only). A former student of mine ran out of gear at 216 mph with 18/38 and the stock redline. My first Mojave Mile didn't go so well (it's a very long story. Maybe I'll tell it some day) and I'd like to shoot for 225 next year. I'm...

Sprockets? How Big and How Small?

I have a '99 Hayabusa and have some sprocket questions that I can't seem to answer with the search function. Will a 19 tooth sprocket fit on the front and will a 36 fit on the rear without modifications or clearance issues? Thanx! Weazel

Anyone in Arizona Hack ECUs? Major Issues With ECU Editior...

Good evening, guys. I've got a '99 Hayabusa with a 2005 ECU and rotor, Hahn Turbo Kit, Wossner 9:1 pistons, cams at 105 and 105 LC, water injection, APE valve springs, cylinder studs and crank studs (and some more). I'm in a real spot here and have been having major issues with ECU Editor. I...
