Sometimes you can get lucky and its just a bent shift fork, but normally it breaks the dogs of second gear in which case you will have to split the case. Either way you have to pull the motor. I have changed a shift fork without splitting the case but you need to pull the motor regardless........

I have this Shoei RF 1000. It was a great match to my factory paint. Think I wore it maybe twice.....lol. But really a nice helmet

The 99-07 clamp only fits the 99-07. The ignition switch is different and the bars sit out a little farther since the distance between the upper fairing stay is wider on the Gen 1. You can use a Gen2 aftermarket clamp on any Gen 1 you just have to screw the ignition switch underneath the clamp...

Its a great exhaust system. We use them all the time here at Roaring Toyz on our builds. We love that noise here in Sarasota...lol...forget about the blue hairs, they're gonna complain no matter what. You know they were hatin' Thunder by the Bay last weekend!!!
