I've got the same problem with my 05 - Mobil Syn 1 here as well. Think I'm going to try another brand next oil change and see if the problem disappears.
I'm using Continentals and have been pretty happy with them. Either the Sport Attack or Road Attack series work depending on how your riding is distributed. The Sport Attacks are very comparable to the Pilot Powers and are a bit cheaper.
That's just it - subtle changes. After waiting this long for the new version I was expecting something significant. 10 HP isn't much of a gain given the potential development time.
Personally, I like the fact that they didn't make any radical changes in the bodywork. Subtle is good in that...
As far as revs go, I find 70 MPH puts the busa right at 4k RPM in 6th gear. It's perfectly happy below that though. There is occasional choppiness up to around 2500 but it really smooths out after that.
I've tried them and yeah, they don't really work. Even with one on the bike it doesn't trip some of those *&#@< lights. About the best method I've found is to stab the front brake really hard when coming to a stop over the sensor. That usually gets the engine close enough to the pavement to trip...

Somebody definitely needs to do this mod. Not only would it deter thieves, it would make you the hit of any bike night you showed up at.
