I looked at my subframe. It looked to me like it might be the welds on the sub frame that are failing ? Mine looked okay but I could see how a bad weld on that sub frame might produce a weak point since its not one solid piece. just an opinion

I think the rims you are seeing aren not polished as much as they are stripped. Suzuki gave gave stainless lips with a cast center portion. You use a $3 dollar can of paint stripper from ACE and spray it on the lib and wipe of the paint. and Shazzam you have what appears to be polished...

'92 GSX-R1100 I know my limits... If you know your limits you can ride any bike you want. I never rode a bike and I did a 5mph fall over on it, oh lets say 15 min after I got it :) 10 of that was drive the guy I bought the bike from back to his place after he rode the bike to my house.

For those people who have polished their frames. I thought the coating that was sprayed on them is to protect the aluminum ? What do you use to protect the polished frame. Will this require constant polishing? How do you keep the frame from oxidation. Any suggestions?
