I dont know what your idea of "hot" is, but if it was truly hot, like pegged in the red and your were having too much fun, I would say get it checked out, prolly toasted/started to wreck something internally man....

Sounds like your clutch IS slipping to me... I would check your clutch as the other fella said... you havent been running any automotive oil in your bike have you?

Yup it is the pressure relief valve... gotta have one. No fix for that every bike I have had does it.... including non-busas.

My 03 has 6200... in my defense, we have a short season in MN, and the bike sat for 2 years before I bought it. I put on just over 1 k this year, have been so busy.

cuz in norway, most of them speak english... they usually know norsk as well, but everyone is bilingual there.

I get 32 about average... but I bought the bike to go fast.. lol I could care less if it got 15-20 MPG.. other than having to stop to get gas. POWER!!!!

I must be bad... I just change the dam oil... drive it it works...I mean holy crap its a piece of metal, not a person lol... I use the cheapest bike oil I can get. valvoline usually. change the filter with every oil change, usually 2-3k... done
