    New Bike Prices

Thanks, all. Dealers I've contacted (including some referenced here) have been high so far...

    She's Gone. :-(

Thanks guys. Hoping to get things on track sooner than later, and to find a new Busa at a good price. We'll see. I'm still a way out, but most dealers are quoting way above what I think is reasonable. :-)

    New Bike Prices

Hi. I might be in the market for a new Hayabusa, having parted with an older one awhile back. On NADA's site, it looks like prices average around $13,200, but can be as low as 10,100 or so. Any thoughts on which dealers can offer that lower price? Thanks in advance.

    She's Gone. :-(

Well, guys. I'm out. Sold the '09 Busa due to present circumstances. Someone in Florida's gonna get a nice bike. Looking ahead to the next generation of Hayabusa, which looks to be coming in 2018. Not sure what discussions have been had here, but sounds like the new one will be lighter...

    Question!

You gotta take every turn individually. What if it is a decreasing radius turn? Oil slick in the road? Leaves? Signs don't tell the whole story, and I never pay much attention to the signs. Sure, I'll note the speed they recommend, but if they say 30 and road conditions demand 25, I'm going...

Mirror Repaint After Parking Lot Drop

I had a parking lot drop at Zero miles per hour a couple weeks ago, due to unseen gravel (night shift, dark outside...) Rather than buy a new rearview mirror for my bike, I'm thinking about simply sanding the scuffs out and painting my mirrors to match. Can anyone tell me what kind of paint I...

Do I Hold The Record (for riding like Grandma?)

Great... so I'm in the ballpark then. Could probably have gotten another 1000 miles or so, my guess. This was a BT-015. Hopefully will do so will with the replacement BT-016. Thanks, guys.

Saw These Master Cyl Covers Today on a Busa at the Shop... Know Where I Can Find 'em?

Anyone know who makes and who sells these? I'd like a set for my bike. :-) Thanks in advance.

Do I Hold The Record (for riding like Grandma?)

6126 miles on the original, stock rear tire. Some miles left to go, but figured I'd better not take chances and replaced the tire today. Do I hold the distance record for most miles on the original rear tire? ;-) <grandma alert> Plenty of life on the front, still. :-)

    Damn gravel...

Heheh. I love resurrecting ancient history.

    Damn gravel...

This may be an OLD POST, but I just dropped my nearly 3 year old Busa the same damned way. Almost years and we were PERFECT. As I arrive to work well before sunrise some days, I didn't see that I'd put my foot down in a patch of gravel that had loosened from the blacktop parking lot. Foot...

    Presidental Election Question ?

Was reading an article earlier today... will try to find it. Wars aren't the expensive thing... entitlements are (government retirements, especially... darnit!) Lost my military career/potential active duty retirement. Can't wait to be told they'll take my federal gov't retirement one day...

    Presidental Election Question ?

Heck no. Lost a 14+ year military career due to our feds' inability to pass a budget. Lucky to have a job now... at a 50% pay cut. Lost retirement I'd needed, and other benefits. Starting over at 40. Gee. THANKS, Uncle Sam! Not. Happy to still have the bike... she's one good thing...

    Rear brake lockup

Thanks, y'all. I've paid attention to technique. Think I just hit some sand last month... no biggie. Have had the bike serviced and pads are OK now. Making darn sure to keep cleaners (hmmm... PLEDGE, anyone) well away from the wheels (apply to rag, not to bike), and just take it easy for the...

    Stock Tires

I recently had my 2009 Busa in for its 4000 mile service. Shop said the tires are still OK... probably another couple thousand on them. I was given a guideline of 5000 miles rear, 10,000 miles front for sportbike tires... just as a general guide... when I started riding several years ago...
