Yes it doesn't appear to be self-centering, and Steve told me the same. It also appears to be slightly too long, which I hope I can rectify when I have it redone.

Yes I did, why? It's super heavy stainless steal and the end bolt is a POS cheap thing from Home Depot. LOL. If I end up keeping this bike and wheel setup I'm going to have the axle remachined out of 7061 including a nice bolt.

Ok I found it. It mounts on one of the upper radiator coolant bottle screws to protect the frame from the fairing rubbing on it.

1st Gen-2000. When I removed the leftside fairing panel this metal piece w/rubber end protector fell off. I can't figure out where it goes or for what purpose. It doesn't have any mounting holes to speak of.
