I've had both (03 and now have an 09). The Gen II is better. As for looks, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

I average 3000 kilometres (1864 miles) a month. When I traded my 03' for an 09' earlier this year, it had done 100,000 kilometres (62,137 miles). I prefer to ride my Busa' as opposed to polishing it in the garage.

Sometimes I think that this Forum needs a RE fitted to it.

Your sprocket looks fine. Those "Rubber Weights" are part of the Cush Drive. I very much doubt if they need replacing. I had them replaced on my first Busa' at 90,000 kilometres (56,000 miles)!!

I used to have a Katana 1100, the Busa' is much more comfortable.

Go with the Gen II, it's a better bike.

Hi All, I am trading my 03' (Silver/Gray) in for a Gold/Black 09' on Thursday. I have done 100,000 kilometres (about 62,100 miles, I think) on the 03' which has been absolutely reliable. Looking forward to the new one!
