I was having a similar starting issue, I eventually went with a 12 cranking amp battery instead of the 10 cranking amp. no hot start issue since.
I've never heard of a main crank bearing causing a start issue.
I run an aeromotive stealth intank pump on my 2008 gen11, stock ECU, no aftermarket management.
did the fuel filter mod.
bike runs great and has been running great since the pump change, but had to run a 15 amp fuse as it was blowing the original 10 amp in seconds.
This was done around July last...

got a chance to test the bike earlier on........ front all up in the air, tach swinging to 10+ rpm in no time at all.....
