    Compression vs ticking noise

Sounds like ticking valve or exhaust leak. Noise is most noticeable when idle og or throttle is applied. When letting of throttle and engine braking noise goes away. For this gen1 build I am using gen1 intake cam and gen3 exhaust cam to get strong mid rpm power and decent top end power. I...

    Compression vs ticking noise

Can anyone confirm that raising compression makes the engine ticking noise louder. I have done a few gen1 engines latly with CR ranging from 11.5:1 to 12.6:1. They seem to become more noisy, sounds a little like valve chatter, but valves are spot on.

    R1 wheel conversion problem

thanks for your replys. TRW dont sell brake disc to required specs. Early gsxr1000 K1 rear caliper should fit the 220mm disc (read somewhere in a forum post). I might just stick with the R1 OEM disc and busa caliper for now, brake power is decent, and yes it will lock up :-) Front calipers...

    R1 wheel conversion problem

Hi. When installing the R1 rear wheel on my Gen1 busa, I noticed that the rear brake pads does not brake on all of the brake disc. There is 10mm on the inside of the disc that the pads cannot "reach". The caliper cannot be moved closer towards the center of the wheel since it will rub against...

    Gen1 brake master cylinder (upgrade)

Hi guys. By recommendations by RD350 enthusiasts I replaced the front brake master cylinder on my RD350 ypvs with a CBR600 F3 master. Damn that improved the stopping power by 200% and it has way better modulation. So i bougth another one and put on my Gen1 Busa and feels way better than the...

    Gen1 vs gen2 cylinder barrel

Since no gen2 cylinder barrel "hp inprovement proof" was available, I used gen1 barrel for this build, which I had in stock. Gen1 stock bore, modified OEM pistons, 12.4:1 compression, stock gen1 intake cam, gen3 exhaust cam, diy ported head, pump gas Torque is metric NM and correction is SAE...

    Gen1 vs gen2 cylinder barrel

The gen2 cylinder has the skirt cut to aid pumping losses. Has anyone done a test to see how much that equates to horsepower wise compared to gen1??

    Gen1 to Gen2 ECU

Yes wiring is the biggest job. You have to cut and move a lot of wires and plugs from gen1 to gen2 harness. You can use gen1 head, throttle body and airbox. You just need to cut and splice in gen1 TB harness and turn off secondary injectors, STV and ICS valve in gen2 ecu. I started off using the...

    Individual cylinder AFR tuning

Dont know. But I wonder why ingition timing is so different between the cylinder banks.

    Individual cylinder AFR tuning

Ok, so I finally finished a series of test passes with the ICT tuning. I started out with 3 passes on cylinder 1, with autotune between each pass. Also cylinder 2 with 3 iterations. Then I copied cylinder map 2 to 3 and cylinder map 1 to 4 and did 2 test iterations on both cylinder 3 and 4. I...

    Individual cylinder AFR tuning

Each cylinder flow about 11 liters/min through the PAIR port at idle. I made this version 2.0 exhaust valve measuring device :-) using an old PAIR valve. The exhaust air enters the big port i the bottem end and has to pass the O2 sensor to escape through the 4 one-way ports. The one-way valves...

    Individual cylinder AFR tuning

I have been looking into individual cylinder tuning (ICT). Since I dont want to drill and weld bungs on my Akravovic header, I tried something different. I used the PAIR pipes coming from the cylinder head and attached the wideband sensor directly to each cylinder PAIR pipe with a suitable hose...

    exhaust header balance pipes

Watching this youtube video with Brock, he tests the gsxr 1000 stock exhaust header. He said that the crossover/balance pipes between cyl 1-2 and 2-3 will aid midrange but loose top end hp. Thats why the gsxr1000 stock header has set valves to cut off these balance pipes. Has anyone tried...
