Gen1 Hayabusa CRK Sensor Wire Colors

Well folks after searching around the "Used Gen1 Busa Stator Market" I found a photo that confirms my initial connection that "Stator Side Green" goes to "ECU Side White" and "Stator Side Blue" goes to "ECU Side Green". So much for common sense.

Gen1 Hayabusa CRK Sensor Wire Colors

Hello, I have a 1999 Hayabusa. My crank position sensor had exposed wires at the midpoint connector (between stator and ECU). I released each wire locking crimp from the plastic connector housing, added heat shrink and replaced. After replacing the wires in what I thought was the same holes...

20 Years Young, 1999 Busa Running Strong

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I bought the machine in 2009 with 25000 miles on it. Thanks for the offer on the fairings but I kinda like the open look and takes 20 minutes off most maintenance jobs! We do match, I honestly hope this bike continues to age with me. Starting all over again...

20 Years Young, 1999 Busa Running Strong

Honestly - I was right side passing line of vehicles at full stop, I'm literally next to a giant 4 door pickup, so close to rear passenger door I hear it 'click' to open, and as the door opens, I veer right, but clip and slide.... I got the usual bruises but the high school girl exiting the...

20 Years Young, 1999 Busa Running Strong

Yeah, you guys have a nose for news... I'll tell you what never ever has issues - the engine - I measure value clearance every 40k miles - always within. Compression - always within. What I do do to keep the old girl happy: 1) oil - FullSyn every 3k miles 2) K&N air cleaner - rinse with simple...

20 Years Young, 1999 Busa Running Strong

Hello Everyone, Thought I'd post a short note and a couple of pics of my 1999 work horse Busa. She's no longer the bell of the ball on the outside and no longer a teenager but at 183k miles I understand this machine and feel comfortable and confident riding her. We've had a few rainy winter...

    Best tires for Hayabusa

Hi guys, I hope this upload works. I ride a 99 on a 70 mile round trip daily (weekday) SF-Bay area commute. I've had PR3 for several months. This picture is from the front. It's getting pretty close to being done. Interesting to me is the center still has tread (the harder compound) but...

99 BUSA Oil Leak from small hole under exhaust pipe on head

Anybody know what these 4 holes are for on a 99 busa head right below exhaust to head port? Oil coming out of one. Bike runs fine but drips. Does this mean head = scrap?

    99 Fuel Pump Question

agreed, but also the plastic shroud I believe is designed to capture the wires to avoid the pinch. I suspect the last rebuild the tech had the wire on the outside of the shroud. Two pics of my theory (1) correct (2) risky

    99 Fuel Pump Question

Thanks guys. I have new o-rings so I'll leave it bare. Interesting, when I bought the bike the idle speed adjust thumb-cable-screw would short and blow a fuse! There was current running around the outter housing of the fuel pump casing (99 external). So a few years later (ie. now) I have the...

    99 Fuel Pump Question

Hey guys, I have my 99 apart for mtc. Specifically fuel pump. When it came apart the gasket had a sealer on it. I'm pretty sure this was done by a pro as there were recalls in 99 (I am specuulating here). The manual says put engine oil on the new one as I rebuild. Fair enough - but...

    Michelin Pilot Road 2 CT's

Guys, I've been riding PR 2CT's for a couple years now. I'm on my second set and roughly 3500 miles on those. I do the california freeway commute totaling 75 miles a day. When brand new the 2CT are a dream. At current millage over 120mph (very infrequently done but nevertheless...) there is...

    When fork seals go bad....

To be continued.... ..If this "99 busa was a woman, she'd be getting a tummy tuck, lips, eyes, and of course a new pair of dancin shoes...., yeah, its like that, stay tuned, ..
