Gave up then Gen 2 Busa to sail the world, on return bought a chopper, but had to go back to Busa (can't beat it!) this time Gen 1.....
The new (15 year old) Gen1
Which is as it says......
I came back to Busa's from something a little different....
And prior to the chopper we were...
Note the small holes in the 3 black belly pan parts - this is where you find the push pins when you shove your head behind the wheel with a 250 watt inspection lamp!
Having put it all together again next time I remove the fairing I will do it differently. I would remove all bolts and push-pin fittings except those at the very rear underside by the 'fishtail' at the rectifier. Then I would aim to remove the front interior wheel-well side panels (photo of...
Thanks for the presentations. Baffling dis-assembly especially having removed all the pins and allen bolts only to find the fairing won't budge. Parting the fairing joint at the base and then unclipping the black plastic cowling around the base and radiator started to get things moving. The...
Yep from new I had bad vibrations above 4500 rpm - thought it was an engine issue - and after about 2000 miles I realised they had gone away and all was smooth. Then I had a new Battlax 015 tyre fitted and now all vibrates like new again which is horrible!!!
And big bore cans from the rear LHS and RHS! I have not researched Power Commanders yet so next on the list maybe. The Racefit pipes also another contender in my view.
Hi, here is a couple of pictures of the Scorpion Street Extreme Stubby exhausts just fitted on my 08. I could not find any pics or sound samples but eventually bought them as I like a coke can type profile with big bore exits. They weigh nothing - really nothing (thought the supplier had sent...
For dual rear cans I looked at Blue Flame and Scorpion Stubby's (Street Extreme - best price from BikeBitz in UK). I chose the latter as I like the small size and big bore exit. Would have liked a custom one off drain pipes in black with chrome tips but don't have the funds. No photo's yet to...
Respond to self.....dum de dum de dum....
Aaaah now winter is here and the roads are wet 24/7. My standard Busa tyre which is like a slick around the centre section might as well be a figure skating blade.....the back end keeps trying to overtake me.....and for braking in a straight line on...
Eh?
If I call myself a Brit is that OK? Could be the local Brit that cross threaded my bolt, or a robot - who built this thing? There are no fingerprints on my bolts! I know it was designed by martians because I keep coming across green bikers oggling my big fat tyre.
No issues at 1,000...
I have had my Busa for about a month - only 600 miles & waiting first oil change - fantastic machine, so smooth, so fast, so capable. It is too good - it is hard to have fun without becoming a l-u-n-a-t-i-c!!!
Thankfully it has character. I have been riding too many years and all bikes have...
