Bummer, I don't have heated grips so I don't have any suggestions. I'm guessing that the clearance between the grip flnge and the throtle housing is too small. Can the grips be moved out a bit?
The service manual calls for repeated valve clearance checks but I'm wondering at what mileage the valves actually get adjusted. A Suzuki service rep told me that they typically don't need adjusting until around 35k.
If your bike actually needed the valves adjusted, at what mileage were they...
I like the Professors mod, clean and mounted low. With the RAM mounting balls you have protection from vibration (the enemy of electronics). Not so sure about some of the other methods.
Installed (fig.4) you can see that there is now a small space between the lever and the throttle housing that a gloved thumb can fit to flip the lever into the off position.
I reinstalled the unit and followed adjustment directions on the package. The whole project should take about 30 to 45...
So, I also removed some of the cruise control lever (see Fig.1 for cutting point). After cutting with the Dremel and grinding until smooth, the lever should look like fig.3.
I was unable to get the Vista-Cruise (IMO a cleaner looking product) to fit because their was not enough clearance between the grip and the throttle housing for the unit to fit without major grinding.
I therefore installed the NEP unit (#CC-4) with a few minor mods. First off you need to peel...
Great tip! I was looking for solutions to the backfiring problem and happened to stumble on this thread. I'll definitely try it, beats the heck out of the $200+ solutions.
Cool, so it sounds like if I use my impact gun I don't have to worry about the engine turning over from the torque of the gun. I don't quite understand why but I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
Anyone install the Vista Cruise on theor 'busa? How much of the throttle grip flange needs to be shaved? And does the whole thing need to be removed or is it done with the grip still on the bar?
Thanks.
How do you keep the motor from rotating when removing the front sprocket? Is putting it in gear sufficient? What about leaving the drive chain installed and immobalizing the rear wheel with the break or some other method?
Thanks for any tips..
I'm having trouble getting my starter clutch cover to seal. I replaced the gasket (11491-24F01) after noticing a leak but still the leak persists. I've also got a leak from the oil galley plug (the crush washer is on back order) just below and forward of the starter clutch cover. Anyone else...
I have a leak from my Starter Clutch Cover. I just replaced the gasket and thought every thing was fine. After my first ride it's leaking again . Is it ok to use a liquid gasket seal in addition to the gasket for a little more sealing power or is this a bad place to use it? perhaps someone knows...
