    I rode a 14 tonight

Replace the rear signal lenses with something more closely fitted to the curve of the tail fairing.

    Lean angle ?

Parts that drag first? On the right side, the lower fairing where it starts to bulge. On the left side, the engine case. If you are on a track it will happen without you even realizing it. I never noticed until a friend pointed it out to me after the first couple of sessions. The bike was very...

    plastic rivets

You can use windscreen hardware to replace these. Metal fasteners, come in different colors, look much better, and more secure.

Zx-14 info thread "sportriders 1st ride"

I took a 14 for a demo ride in Daytona in march. It was a great ride, Kawasaki were the only manufacturer there that were not uptight about their demo rides. We blatantly ignored speed limits and went well up into triple digit speeds around several nice sweeping curves. I am not a kawasaki fan...

Tire Size For Track 180 or 190?

On the road I have run both the 180 and 190 Pilot Power, and like the 180 better. The 180 is a little quicker (turning in), and I haven't noticed any negatives. For a track day coming up I plan on running Power Race medium softs, but I am wondering about the size for the rear. Is there any...

    pictures from Deals Gap

I was there at the same time, from the previous Wed to the following Mon. I didn't see any other Busa's though the people I was with saw a red one. The guy apparently was stopped at a scenic overlook on the dragon just above the lake. My friends stopped to talk to the guy and they asked him if...

Have you ever fallen in Jeans?

Regular jeans will last about 5 feet at low speeds. I know this from first hand experiance. I hit the road at about 90, head and shoulders first, tumbled once or twice ( I think), then slid on my shoulders until the last second or so when my butt finally hit the ground. I had almost come to a...

    Cleaning with Kerosene

Honda spray cleaner/polish cleans all that stuff as good as WD-40 and works well on all the materials on your bike. Plus it shines up nicely with a little buffing. It cuts right thru the thickest chain lube splatters.

    new Shoei TZ-1

Check out www.accwhse.com for Shoei helmets, or just about anything. Last month I bought a new Shoei RF-1000 for $270.00 with shipping from them. It is a solid color, metallic black. The fancy paint jobs are a little more I think.

    I'm a friggin' !!

Another wuss here. Been riding many years and never went down, except in the dirt (no biggie, usually). Some might think that after years of riding with no accidents that they might be able to get away without the gear, but it only takes one time and my time finally came. Thanks to my gear I was...

    any cruser riders here

Does anybody really have any faith in the accuracy of test results out of any bike mag? The first time I ever went to a drag strip with anything, on my second run I beat the best 1/4 mile time claimed by any magazine test for the bike I was riding. I like to think I'm a decent rider, but come...

    Revlis and his bloody Silkolene

I have not heard of any problems when going from synth to dino. But it can cause problems to go from dino to synth in an old motor that has always had dino in it. The synth cleans away all the build up around the seals, that may have kept the old seals from leaking, and then they start leaking.

Motorcycle Safety Topic of the Week

Thanks Coach, A ride with some other enthusiasts would be great. I might be hard pressed to find the time however, depending on when and where. New twins in the house, both with colic, and buried at work lately. Would love to get away from it all for a ride if possible though.
