What is "a little" over 12 volts? It should be 12.6 at rest. What happens to the voltage reading when you put a heavy load/draw on it? What is the voltage reading when the engine is running up off idle?

I bought a set off Ebay by Knight Design, they fit the Buell XB12 but are 1" lower than the stock Buell pegs. So it made a HUGE difference on my Gen1 Busa. I have a turbo with a dump pipe so the exhaust wasn't an issue in my case. The pegs would probably not clear on a bike with factory...

Thank's for pointing that out Lurch, I can't fit a 12 ga shell (or a dog LOL) into my revolver. What about the CCI shotshells? They are like mini-shotgun rounds for hand guns. Are those a realistic idea or useless?

There are a lot of steps you can take to figure out what's going on. Unplug the factory fan and and run the bike with a house fan blowing at the radiator to help keep things cool while testing. If you still blow the fuse with the fan unplugged you can assume you have a shorted wire, so go in...
