If a brake rotor gets a warp in it, say from a bit of carelessness in handling the wheel while it is off the bike, is it possible to "re-true" the rotor, or must it be replaced? What can happen with such a warp is that there is excessive runout as rotor rotates, and the runout pushes piston...

My daddy had some stock when I wuz a kid, but it kept gettin' out an' tramplin' the neighbor's garden. So we had ta git rid of our stock, and dint never git no more. I don't miss it.

+1 Since I retired, I try to avoid riding at all on weekends. Between the bikers that come out of the woodwork, and sightseeing locals, and tourists who drive like they have never seen a curvy road before, I just stay home. Then on Monday -Thursday, I do my riding.

As to why go back, well it's all just personal preference. And my personal preferences are for the original look, sound and feel of factory stock. Others may feel differently, and that's fine; I can respect that. But I'm past the point where I need or want more sound or performance than offered...

For what it's worth, I bought my 2007 'Busa in fall of 2008 for $7,500. It had 8,000 miles on it at the time. But mine's red pearl, not blue. I'd sell it tomorrow for $7,000 and not bat an eye. But that's just me.
