Overcame the same fear in 2009 when I rode from Augusta, GA to The tail of the dragon. Four and a half hour ride and it rained all the way up there. Had rain suits but regular boots. Other than feet greeting wet, I was fine. We still had fun and we got to ride the dragon while it was dry.

With HID you really don't need high beams. I took mine out of my gen 1. Didn't look any different.

10000K is pretty blue. Got my 6000k from e-bay for $32 . Xentec is the brand. I went three years before I had to replace the bulb. They sell the kits as well as the bulbs and ballets separately.

You can wire them to your tail light pos and neg. that way they come on when you start the bike up. If not, you Can use a toggle switch.

75 in GA today. Rode yesterday with some friends. I hate to hear about a rider going down in a fatality. :bowdown:
