Here's my Gen II K9 Busa'. Still a work in progress like most on here I'm sure. The idea is to get it as near as possible to 200bhp and 200kg. Need to gain around 8.5 bhp and loose 15kg (33 pounds) to get there. Something tells me these last few hp/kg are not gonna be cheap from here on in!
I have an aftermarket carbon front guard from a K7/K8 GSXR1000 on my '09 busa. I'm sure quite a few GSXR front guards fit from what I understand but I can only confirm the one I have on my bike for sure.
It bolts on with no mods needed. The only thing I changed were the bolts which I swapped for...
I lived in Bury st Edmunds until I was 30. I then moved to stowmarket and have been here for the last 7 years. My whole family are from bury on both sides. You might miss the Beer but I can tell you there's not much else to miss!
I hear what you are saying, as I said before they are an acquired taste. I'm a fan but my wife said she hates it as it she thinks it looks "unbalanced" aesthetically.
Above all else my plan was to take the "bus" out of the hayabusa which I think I have succeeded in doing. Loosing around 35kgs...
The seating position is pretty much the same. The main difference is the shape of the seat, which from the hour ride I've just had seems to be an improvement. Although I may change my mind after a day in the saddle!
I like the way the new seat curves as it seems to spread your weight well. I do...
Hi all, thought I might share some pics of my Busa complete with freshly installed GSX-R1000 tail.
It's amazing how long it takes to finish something like this, as I'm sure you all know its always the
little details that hold things up.
Big thanks to Gregg from Greggs Customs who had to...
Unfortunately I have no numbers before the exhaust went on, I agree it would of been a useful comparison.
The plan is to make the bike a little sharper all around. I've set a target of 200bhp and 220kgs.
I should be pretty near the target weight shortly as I have a carbon gsxr tail waiting to...
Didn't see the AFR chart, should of asked for it with hind sight. If it makes any difference it had shell V-power fuel in the tank (99 octane).
I seem to remember that fuel in the US is typically a lower octane. Not sure how true this is or how much difference it makes.
BSD use a Dynojet 250i...
You think that's expensive? A black ceramic Alien Head system costs $2323 in the UK! Luckily I got a friend to bring one back in a suit case when he visited his brother in Florida.
Before you ask his suit case was popped by security on the flight back as it looked suspicious!
Thought I would put this up to see how you guys think it compares.
Mark at BSD performance in the UK remapped the ECU, removed the limiters, turned off the O2 sensor and turned off the pair valve.
Excellent results from the seat of the pants. Improved throttle response and more linear...

I'm sure if you call a uk dealer they could post them.

After looking into it I think the alien head in black ceramic appeals the most. Anyone know how hard wearing the coating is?
I like the alien head because it appears to not rely on being bolted to the pillion foot peg. This may be useful as I plan on a GSXR1000 tail mod in the future.
Isn't that is a big part of why people buy 'busa's in first place? I hit 160 within about 10mins of owning it. Can't say that it's a good idea to ride that way regularly though, however easy it is!
