what oil for your built motor?

I can tell you more and more engine builders like and use Amsoil Dominator race oil, Carpenter, Knecum and Schnitz use them and nothing else, that I know of. I know Rotella is not what it used to be, since government regs on oils they all had to remove most Zinc and Phosphorous, by law for on...

Manual Cam Chain Tensioner ? Yay or Nay?

I would use stock oem The idea per Carpenter is what was mentioned above, the unit has a anit back off pin in it, and with idle set up like 1800 rpm to keep good oil pressure to valve train, the stock unit as always will adjust if needed and not back out in any way, my 1630 carpenter motor has...

    What Size Motor

get a Carpenter 1441 you wont be sorry there I had one and that is possible the best combo out there, the 1441 i mean, I am sure other builders can do it as well, Carpenter 1441 on pum gas makes around 225-230 depending on pipe etc. I loved it for street use and used stock gen 2 block no issues!

    gen 1 1507cc build

My 1630 Race only package from Bob still has oil cooler and full Rad. Now I was told to use Amsoil Dominator 10w30 oil and engine ice in radiator, I can make 2 runs back to back and coolant never gets above 1/2 way on temp gauge! I ride it on short street rides and again stay cool, so if...
