Keep it in Neutral to avoid bending a shift fork

I just put in Race Tech's gold valves and heavier springs and used their Ultra Slick fork oil. It was 10W.

I use a front and rear stand. I was afraid of removing the rear stand. Now I just put the kick stand down, grab the rear bar/seat lock, use a velcro strap to lock the front brake. This way I know the bike won't roll forward.

I'm in Central MA.

17/42 Gearing All highway is about 200 miles, then stop and put in 5 gallons.

Congrat on your ride. My longest ride was from MA to FL last year. Left @ 6AM on a Thus. Stopped every 140 or so miles to fillup/eat/hydrate. Stayed overnight in N.C. Got to Jacksonville by 6PM Friday. This year might be TN.

I have the same rack but my Corbin rear seat won't fit with the rack installed. I have to use my stock seat while that rack is on. Nice job!!
