    Yes, you can definitely use a heat gun but be careful as it's been pointed out that it can warp the plastic. I used a bit of Naptha (Lighter fluid) to remove any excess glue as it won't damage the clearcoat..

    I have one of These which looks similar. You might want to ask what brand of taillight they are selling. If it's the same, it works well.

    Paint in my radiator ?!

    Just pointing out a possibility; my bike didn't get ruined but it sure upset me to have to pull the whole system apart to be sure all the paint was removed. Good luck!
