So after 44,000 miles....should they be replaced? I am doing some work over the winter and have the money.....btw...how much are a new set of these cush components....?

I have a 2003 with 44,000 miles....runs perfect.....killed a z10 and z12 just the other day and the z12 was modded.... runs like new...but I take good care of her.....I hear some folks get near or above 100,000 on these things.....

okay....well I have put about 100 miles on the bike since the oil change... gone thru all gears, took her to 130 mph...let her idle and get really hot and then shut her down in the cool air we've had in chicago.....NO LEAKs after 100 miles..... I would like to do the repair but am wondering if...

okay.....some of you mentioned heli coil.... I've done some reading...there is a controversy over helicoils and their effectiveness.....a few sites suggest using a "timesert" instead ...that they are more reliable and not prone to coming loose or leaking.... any experts in this area.....btw...

okay boys and girls....last year I had a small problem with a very minor leak at the drain plug. The mechanic suggested either tapping the drain plug (how do they do that?) or a new oil pan (about 300 bucks with labor as they have to move the headers/exhausts...) Or you can use a little teflon...

if you don't believe that the dogbone part of the chain can stretch...kiss your career good bye as a metallurgical engineer. All metals and steal stretch....its a very very small amount but over time they change....heat and cold also have an effect.

Oh and did I mention my odometer just went past 40,000 miles two days ago.....and my bike is an 03 model. Now mechanical problems in 4.5 seasons....the bike is extremely reliable assuming you take care of it.....

semi is right ...the more you do...the easier it gets.... 200 miles in a day used to kill me. Now I do 400 mile days routinely.... chicago to galena Chicago to mount horeb wisconsin...beautiful rides..... I did 750 miles last weekend.....and 425 miles this past weekend. you just need to pace...

Great....this thread makes me feel like an idiot.... I just paid over 350 to have two new tires installed. How do dealers feel about just mounting tires without having bought the tires from them? I have a great relationship with my dealer/mechanic but some of the prices are getting nutzy....

babuski had 32777 at 12/31/06 babuski has 34,100 on May 14th 2007 1,323 for the year. Hope to do 12,000 this season....or more...

walk a busa all the way up to the limiter? Or just to 120-140 and then start to fall behind?
