You definitely don't want to "remove" 3 of the springs ! With the "weld-mod." it should slip easy enough and HD springs will help with slippage on the other end. I use all 3-HD and 3 stock with BDE spacers.

Checked mine and it 2.4 lbs heavier-in conjunction with the 15 lb brick, I went from low 9.00s to mid 8.80s at SWB and picked up about 1.5 mph just because I could get on the gas quicker without wheelying.

If you do the clutch mod you definitely need HD springs or spacers. Make sure you put that last friction plate in correctly or they won't last long.

8secBusa, I just read where you're still stock bore - I thought you were 1397 too. You're running extremely well to be stock bore. Your mph is close to my mph with a 3 mill in the 1/8th(125~127) and not off by much in the 1/4th(155~157).

Your're lucky the pin didn't try to lock up your cams. Be sure to measure the "height" when you put it back in.

8secBusa - how much do you weigh ? I have 17/41 gearing and ran 8.868,8.885,8.911/high 155~low 156 mph(still stock wheelbase)but I only weigh 175 lbs.. Our mph in the 1/8th and 1/4 are almost the same so you are definitely making enough power to get there. I tried 17/42 and actualy ran 156~157...
