Who Rode Today?

I bought the expensive ethanol free 92 octane stuff @ 3.10 a gallon USD

$3.10 a gallon is a steal. 91 is our hi test and it’s $3.59 at least. I’ve always run 89 in the Busa though. My Kaw and car take 91. Haven’t had a red sugar soda in a long time! You’ll get a lot of use out of that NR tailbag. Mine must be nearly 20 years old.

Was a beautiful 81 deg here in Texas . Beautiful ride. Would have been better had my baby not just shut off on me in the middle of the highway. Almost 11 years she's been loyal to me. There has been times she's been rode hard and put away wet but she always stayed strong. Now I gotta take her in for diagnosis...

I RODE THE 210 TO 134 Freeway here in Los Angeles. oh man oh man! the santa ana winds were on steroids I nearly got pushed into the wall on the carpool lane, I was leaning bike over to go against wind as I rode lol I was like this is it!! get ready to go down mode!!! I was following 2 other riders too but they pulled to the side since it was too strong, I fought through it. it was 5:30 am tree branches everywhere dust all over freaking palm tree branch in middle of road had to run it over couldnt dodge it in time. was one of my most scariest times even tho I been use to riding through strong winds going back and forth to las vegas but this time was like woah!!! if I would have been on my 600 I definitely would have not made it. hope the winds are not too strong right now when I get off at 5 pm.

I threw down 212 miles today . Many fun moments today . Breakfast , ran RJ almost out of fuel , Amtrak train paced @ 77 mph , big white tail deer paced @ 27 mph by the power plant . FZ 07 attempts to pull away from RJ . Stopped @ road side farmers market to buy from the three sisters farm .
New tail bag by nelson rig is a home run.

Bill I got the sons bike out for a inspection to transfer from California to Texas . Once I learned where traction control off was this big bike was fun . The tractor tires make massive noise, but drift well when applying power out of the corners.

Had a spectacular no traffic ride today for 144 miles and got 46 mpg. This bike is so nice for these mountain roads. The Busa takes more effort to negotiate the tight corners and the standard seating position of the Z is just more comfortable for cruising the foothills. Talked with a BMW 1000R rider in his mid 30s clad in Dainese leathers, track boots and AGV helmet. Good to see riders wearing gear. Saw what appears to be a bear carcass down a ravine. This shot is on full zoom and there were flies buzzing all around so I didn’t hike down. I’ve seen dead animals before next to the road, even a mountain lion once but never a bear. At another overlook I spotted this cross. Someone lost Pops?

A few more pics of today’s ride, covered 290kms, lots of traffic, everyone coming home after a 4 day holiday weekend.
Lotsa cops but my radar detector and spider sense saved me a few times!

Met a Dutchman named Willem, he’s from Auckland and touring NZ by himself in this road registered Yamaha 4wd 1000cc monster.
Very cool setup, 110hp 6 speed snowmobile motor , 130kmh top speed limited, decent bit of kit and loads of fun!

Got a short ride in today, saw a few deer, roads have tons of debris and gravel on them from all of this weeks activities of rainy, flooding, tornado watches and high winds etc and oh yeah snow...

Stopped to take a pic and this guy in a car stopped and offered to take a pic of me with the bike so I said sure... My phone died right after that so I didn’t get any other pics. Nothing special but that quick ride satisfied an itch and put a smile on my face
