High compression motors are harder to start, particularly when hot, and busa starting systems are woefully inadequate from the factory. With better batteries like what powerhouse sells, 24volt starting systems aren't really necessary any more but 10 or 15 years ago if you had a 12-1 1397 you better have a second battery.
My bike stock wouldn’t start when hot. I put in a 24 volt system before going 1397. Now I am either going to go with two lithium or whatever the lightest kind of batteries or back to 1 big one.
