I can think of a few folks that I have ample evidence for that I could turn in that have violated this site in similar ways over the years. Some pretty recently, now we know the call is to the FBI.

Californian Gets 26 Months in Jail for DDoS Attacks Against Cloudy Nights Forum

Forum ban the reason behind series of DDoS attacks

Dec 5, 2018 21:32 GMT · By Sergiu Gatlan

David Chesley Goodyear from El Segundo, California, was sentenced to 26 months in jail after conducting multiple distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) cyber attacks against the Cloudy Nights astronomy forum during August 2016.

"He instigated a DDoS cyber attack, in which the perpetrator floods the victim’s computer with useless information from botnets—large clusters of connected devices infected with malware and controlled remotely—and prevents access by legitimate users," says the Department of Justice press release.

Goodyear instigated the DDoS attacks against two of the websites owned by Oklahoma's telescope retailer Astronomics in August 2016 according to Robert J. Troester of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Moreover, Goodyear coordinated recurring cyberattacks against the Cloudy Nights free astronomy forum starting August 9 until the end of the month following the ban of multiple users he had registered on the website.

The online community's moderators blocked the "JamesSober" alias on August 9, initially used by Goodyear to access the website.

Subsequently, "Goodyear then posted messages on Cloudy Nights under a new alias, "HawaiiAPUser," including pornography and profanity directed at Astronomics and the volunteer administrators and moderators of Cloudy Nights."

Goodyear also has to pay $27,352.51 in restitution to Astronomics and a $2,500 fine
In the new messages posted on the online forum, the Californian threatened to talk to some of his contacts to launch DDoS attacks against both Astronomics and Cloudy Nights.

His threats came to fruition the same night and were carried on irregularly until he was interviewed by law enforcement at the end of August 2016, eventually leading to his admission of being behind the DDoS incident.

Goodyear was sentenced to 26 months behind bars in the federal Bureau of Prisons with three years of supervised release after getting out of jail.

Chief U.S. District Judge Joe Heaton also ordered him to pay a $2,500 fine and $27,352.51 to cover Astronomics' mitigation costs and lost profits.

Bet he won’t be doing that again. That’s a nice “slap on the wrist” that he deserved.

Have y'all heard about the KIm DotCom case? He's the German guy founder of MegaUpload, wanted by the US Justice Dept for copyright law breaches and he's been holed up here in NZ for years.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/105254436/kim-dotcom-loses-appeal-against-extradition
The US has been trying to extradite him to face charges on behalf of the major Hollywood studios, they reckon he's scooped up 100's of millions of dollars from his website Megaupload, interesting case, have you looked into that one Captain?
If they do get him sent to the US (even though he's never been there) he's gonna do some serious jail time.
The internet has created some sticky legal precedents.
Watch this space.
