Folks, I'm saddened that this is what our country has become. We have people that are walking the streets spewing not only hate but doing it as Nazi's. As a country we stood against this same hate in 1941 but the men of the greatest genteration had to go to Germany to protect us. We are being torn apart a little at a time inside our country from people using the very freedoms provided to us from the previous generations. What are we going to leave for our kids?

We should be able to have a decent conversation here about the topics surrounding our country folks, let's keep it mature and discuss the points.

What are your thoughts? In America today when everyone is so entitled and carrying the shield of freedom how do we deal with these things?

It is one hard pill to swallow . Something to think about though is things have happened in the past , but media was not there to cover like today or chose not to show the public . With social media everyone is a reporter these days be it good or bad . Saddening to think what our children will have to contend with . You might say the end is nearing to what ever your view of that may be . These days I just stay away from the public , gatherings , games . Kind of sucks at times , but with the number of crazy things going on I feel a wee bit safer in a more controlled environment.
Would love to make a change to it all , but so many performing these acts simply cant be reasoned with . Its their way or ????????? nothing .
Lack of education for many , and the ones that do have one simply are either blind or part of the puppet master pulling the strings .
To me its not what party you belong to , color , or race . People just need to have some morals , ethics , and do what is right .

Well knowing this site all too well I'm not expecting much support for my take on this. All I'll say is it's ironic that the people protesting the removal of statues of confederate heroes are the best case for removing them.

Let's not get too many of the issues confused and all mixed up. I think that it is safe to say that the vast population of the USA condemns that actions that were taken and the attitude and belief that the self proclaimed "Alt Right" hold. While I will agree with you that these same folks are going to use the removal of the statues as the catalyst for their hate had those statues not been here they would have found another way to trigger their hate to try and justify their cause.

Know this Arch, I completly and unquestionably denounce the actions and hate that is being seen in our country right now.

This place changed tremendously in just the six years I was gone. There is so much animosity, division and selfishness now. People are so quick to judge and take their frustrations out on others purely based on their appearance. The more divided we become, the weaker we get as a nation and community. It's our differences coming together that make us stronger. I guess so many people have had life relatively good for so long (on our soil no famine, war, genocide, etc.), they haven't learned that lesson. I just hope we don't repeat history of other great civilizations that have fallen. The parallels are there, though, and it seems people are too busy chasing money and hating each other to notice or care. :(

Trump condems the hate "on both sides"?!!! WTF! What year is this? This terrible and murderous event is a direct result of the white supremacists that organized the event.
The fact that our elected leader didn't fully condem the actions of the haters gave them a Presidential. media high five for their actions, and a giant green light for more. It doesn't what Trump says now, as it's measured back peddling. For the love of God, we have to get a fully condeming statement from the White House only fron a completely annonomous source!
I'd like to see these POS who make up these hate groups be iddntifed and charged with hate crimes, just like when a gang of people assault an individual while yelling racial slurs.

First, I will say it's a damn shame someone got killed, but I'm afraid I could see this coming. Too many people are stirring the pot for their own ends.

I can't stand the KKK. I have the same amount of contempt for them as I do Antifa and BLM. But I also believe that statue of Robert E Lee represents a historical reminder that people should not be trying to erase. And of course, where does it stop...

Now, the the interesting parts of this incident:

- Whether you like or agree with it or not, the "alt-right" (be careful of labels, as they are being used to manipulate just like 'bigot' and 'racist'), had a PERMIT to protest, supported by the ACLU. The counter-protesters did not. In other words, they showed up (and were bused in according to reports) for a fight.

- And they came prepared for a fight. In the video, the car/driver was attacked with a baseball bat BEFORE he drove into the crowd. And there were 20 Baseball bats on him the moment he started backing out. So now the question becomes did he do this deliberately, or in a panic trying to get away because he was assaulted FIRST. We will see. It also, in a court of law, allows that defense to be considered valid. If he deliberately, maliciously did it, he should go to prison for it. Just remember not to make snap judgements, as that has gone badly for those trying to bait a race war...

- There are also rumors which have yet to be substantiated that the police were called off and the protesters were left to fend for themselves; that bricks, balloons with urine etc. were thrown at them by the counter protestors..so much for 'peaceful'.

Frankly, I'm surprised something like this hadn't happened already. People are deliberately being manipulated to start crap and inflame for political purposes.

D.C. is forty square miles surrounded by reality. None of them care one bit about the rest of us. Our nation has been sold to the highest bidders (lobbyists). The news media (ALL the media) distorts and exaggerates for ratings and article hits. Hospitals, which used to be run by nuns and churches for the good of the people, are now run by accountants and billing specialists for the good of profits and shareholders. The American flag, itself, once a symbol of pride and patriotism, is just another product, sold as pajamas, paper towels and toilet paper.

Technology has connected us so much, yet we choose to only listen to others that share our same views. I can't even check out at stores without seeing the cashier ignore me and check his phone while shoving me the receipt... no news or perspective from their life. There is no community anymore. It's just an echo chamber, with everyone hearing what they already want to hear. This is why hate is spreading. No one wants to hear different opinions or work towards real solutions anymore. If we disagree, we can just 'unfriend' you. It's all too easy to group and categorize people now. If you wear a hijab, people think you're a terrorist. If you're black, people think you have a gun and are a thief/murderer. If you're white and drive a 'nice' car, people think you're privileged and were born rich... It's extremely tiring living here these days.

I wish we knew of a solution to an ever increasingly complex problem. But I think things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better. Seems we are all just dumping fuel on the fire, praying it'll die down. :(

Oh brother. Here we go again.

The perp was a self proclaiming radical white supremacist, just for the record. He drove 8 hours to get to the rally and reportedly had planned to do this.
I'm all for free speech. I am very much not for domestic terrorism...regardless of left or right, white or black.

Often times governments come to exist via violoence, but they can only succeed through peaceful process.

I denounce and shame any and all race groups. the black panthers, blm, kkk, nazis, and the list goes on. They stand for nothing worth fighting for. Each and every one of them stand for hate. I also blame 95% of this on the previous administration. They did so much damage to race relations, it may not be repairable.

If true then lock his ass up and throw away the key...

Maybe from one perspective they all stand for hate, but it's a stretch to put BLM and the Black Panthers in a category with Nazis and the KKK. Right or wrong, BLM & the Black Panthers are reactions to misdeeds done to a specific group and the Nazis and KKK were constituted to perpetrate misdeeds against people. Very fundamental difference there I think?

I purposely didn't read the comments already made. So this is in no way directed toward any specific individual. But rather to all of us. Search yourself honestly. The issues we see and sometimes indulge in are what's known as "the human condition". Man is fallen. Sin abounds. It's that simple. There is only one fix. And man is inept. "Let those with ears hear."

Not a chance! Just because its a black group doesn't change the fact of what it stands for! It stands for hate and furthering the black agenda. Absolutely no difference what so ever. KKK stand for hate and furthering the white agenda. There is no difference at all. Just because it was started as a result of another group absolutely does not change the fact that it was started for the same thing.

I needed to add, i am not saying either are good i support neither! I think they are all hate mongers and i think they are all a part of the problem!

All I can say is CNN ABC CBS MSNBC Et Al propaganda outlets do their jobs well.

Remember when ISIS was destroying historical markers and CNN etc were saying that was terrible because whatever side of history you fall on it is important to hold onto these reminders of history? I guess except when it is ours. (USA)
