Top speed in each gear on a busa?

Never tried to see what the top speed was in all the gears, but I think she will hit 90 in first gear at redline.

This is ballpark RESTRICTED cut at 10,600-RPM but remember so many factors...

Gen-2 (18/43):
1st- 78
2nd- 105
3rd- 133
4th- 158
5th- 179
6th- 195

Gen-1 (17/40):
1st- 79
2nd- 107
3rd- 136
4th- 161
5th- 182
6th- 198

Figure SUBTRACT 3-5% for tire slip, not to mention diameter (fresh tire or worn), wind, drag/aero, etc...etc. will lower these numbers! :beerchug:

I guess I meant stock sprockets. Just to get an idea of mph. Not dead on mph just a good idea.

Do what ? If you weigh 145 pounds Gen I 186 in 6th, Gen II 193 in 6th, heavy weights a few MPH less.

from what i've seen on stock gen 1 and 2 models Got -Busa?'s figures aren't far off...both bikes geared very similar.
75,100,135,160,180,limit......some of that is shifting a touch early and I rarely go anywhere near the red line....usually shift at about 9K as its smoother and right at the meaty part of the power.

My thoughts were based on restricted, and my experiences. I'm a heavy weight. The 1999 and 2000 year bikes would be different for sure.

But only in 6th gear will there would be any difference in 99/00 to newer correct?

Unrestricted is a different animal, if you are talking a Gen2 with the restriction removed it will be much different. BUT,...lets not split hairs on it because there are to many factors. Those numbers depend on tire size, wheel slip, wind, etc...etc...etc...on and on. You realistically won't run those speeds even unrestricted.

If you want 200mph+ on a Gen2 I recommend removing the restriction and running 19/41 gearing. That should get you 206ish depending on tire, factors, etc...etc...perfect conditions, tuck, weather, etc...

If you are talking about near stock bikes, you need to remember the Gen1 has a smidge better aero but the Gen2 makes more power and carries it higher in the RPM.

What is it you want to do and compare exactly? Are you thinking about which bike of yours you want to setup for TOP SPEED?

No I just wanted an idea as when you roll racing I'm not looking at the mph gauge just looking at rpms n road n counting the gear.

Saw a shirt once that said 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are for riding . 4th, 5th, and 6th are for going to jail

I think you are pretty dang close! My Gen I would run through the lights @ 138 and just bump the limiter crossing the line.
