The background checks weren't the issue. The issue is with tracking, keeping lists and the medical side. I'm ok with fixing loop holes that really matter but the facts are criminals dont follow the rules. If they would write laws that fit on a single page in plain English they might make some meaningful changes. Instead they stuff the bills full of crap no one wants and rightfully it gets voted down....from both sides.
Also if folks would actually enforce the current laws we would see significant changes. You cannot say its broken if you are not trying to work within the prescribed laws as they are.
Show me that enforcement of the current laws really doesn't work then we can talk about trying to change my 2A rights. Honestly I won't change my position but at least then the argument for changes would hold water.
