It's a little over 1800 miles to Ft. Collins from here.
No set time frame to get there so no iron butt style riding for me.
Longest i've ever ridden in a day is 500 miles or so. My sister lives in Ft. Collins and brother in law as well as an old riding buddy live in Denver. I'll stay a week or more so I have plenty of time to recoup..
Might stop off in Tn. to visit a friend on the way up to break up the ride some.
The only drawback is i'll be riding by myself. I have my own performance repair business but things are super slow here right now and figured it's the best time to do it. I'm not getting any younger and this is something i've been wanting to do for a very long time.
Still not 100% i'm going to do this. 1800 miles is a long ways and I do not want to get there and end up having to fly home and ship the bike back..
So am I crazy? Has anyone made a long ride like this and enjoyed it? If so what are some tips or tricks?
I have the stock seat on the bike now but will probably get a Corbin or send my spare front seat out and have it redid for comfort. Had a new image and didn't like the seating position, worse then stock for me with the hump in the back. Lee did say he could do one without the hump, But since he reshapes the stock foam I don't think it would be as comfy as a Corbin, Sargent, ect
