Well, we have been in our house for a couple of years now, and the formica countertops have lead their life. It was pulling up and the area around the sink was getting soft. So we ripped out the tops and installed granite, and that means we also had to redo the back splash. What do you think? I will put the finishing touches on the grout tonight and it will be done.

Looks great! Thank goodness the house we just moved into had recently upgraded the kitchen with granite and all the goodies. It is much nicer than the top we had in our other house. You will enjoy it for years to come.

Very nice James, Did you install the Granite yourself or just the backsplash? I rent my house but the home owner gave me a $1000 allowance to freshen up the kitchen which hadn’t been touched since the 70’s. There wasn’t enough to go solid surface counter tops so I tiled the floor, the counter tops, the back splash, painted the cabinets white, a new white sink, and a bronze faucet. I also painted all of the cabinet hardware bronze. I’m not a fan of tile counter tops but it was the only thing I could do and stay with in my budget and anything was better than the fake wood grain Formica tops that were pealing all over the place. I didn’t take any before shots but here’s what she looks like now, I did all the work myself.
