Default Relocating to Baltimore area. Need some options.

Busa Bros, I will be moving from Ohio to southern Baltimore area at the end of next month. I need some of you who are familiar with the are to help me find an affordable apartment. I have no freak'n clue where to look. If you can spare some time and help out, it'll be great!!! I'll be working at Fort Meade, so anywhere that provides a reasonable commute is ok with me. Oh, I'm 28, single, with no kids, if that helps when it comes to choosing the type of area.

    Thanks in advance.

Yea, definately won't be living in the inner city of Bmore. I'll likely look for one of the southern suburbs... just dont know which.

Bring your checkbook. You will pay almost double for what you get from Ohio. Maryland sucks!

    The hookers are friendly

Better explain right Went to Baltimore for business once when I had a real job. A friend wanted to do the harbor, afterwards we went one street back to get a beer. Went into a dive. As soon as we sat down at the bar, a woman sat down next to each of us, my friend and I turned looking at each other our mouths open. He said lets go. Outside we explained to each other that the women had firmly latched onto our manhood with a firm grip as they sat down

Buy a gun, learn how to use it, buy extended magazines, get a 130lb pitbull thats trained to attack, buy your pitbull a bullet proof kevalar vest other then that stay off the streets after the sun goes down, and never, never make eye contact with anyone. Best of luck I sure hope its a job that you love and pays extremely WELL.

Buddy of mine was shot there when he was a cop too, back in early 80's. North Va Southern Maryland are very expensive compared to anything in Ohio, I lived in N Va and hated it, I will never move back to that sht hole again, have turned down promotions to avoid going back there. The rest of Va is great though, western Maryland is good too, seafood is great in either state. You will be close to some great riding just to the west, avoid riding in the DC metro area at all costs, its 3 times worse than Miami. I grew up in Jersey, lived in Death Valley, lived in El Paso so I know a sht hole when I see one, this was the worst two years of my life, never again, good luck with the move. Oh, one more thing, I don't think you are allowed to have CCW in Maryland.

Jersey guy here also, well born and raised got the hell outta there.
I remember many many years ago back in the early 90's me and x GF decided lets go
to the inner harbor in Balitimore for vacation..... Well it was late one night and I ran out of smokes
so I decided to walk and find a store to buy a pack of smokes. I walked a few blocks and found a little store open. As I walked up I noticed 3 large african americans loitering in front of the store. My streets smarts alerted me something doesnt seem right, I walked into the store and felt them follow me in. I asked the clerk for a pack of marlboros he said that will be 2.28 I reached in my pocket and only had large bills I pulled out a 50 and handed it to him he asked " DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING SMALLER THAN A 50" I felt like hiding under a rock as I know the other 3 heard... Anyways he gave me my change, I stuffed it in my pocket and headed out the store with eyes in the back of my head walking at a fast pace I turned the city block and ya talk about a white boy running sheeeeet ya couldnt have kept up on a turbo busa I ran so fast!! (back before I carried personal protection) I ran all the way back to the hotel.
NEVER will go back to that place!

Don't know what part of Maryland you guys were in but Maryland is NOT that bad!

Yes it's expensive here but if you're educated you WILL make very good money in the MD, DC and NOVA (Northern Virginia).

Yes crime could be a little lower but it's not like you'll get attacked every other day.

Maryland has the highest ratio to millionaires then any other state. It's location on the east coast and job market make it a vary sought after place to live hence the high housing prices.

From just north of Baltimore all the way down into northern Virginia it's one HUGE metropolitan area that's over 60 miles with plenty of things to do all year round. Within two hours east you're at the ocean, go west and you're in the mountains. Head north and within 3 hours you've past Philly, Atlantic City and you're now in New York City.

Plenty of places nearby me to hunt, ski and fish.

No state is perfect and yes it does have some major flaws bu it's not THAT bad.

Yes I'll agree with Odenton and Gambrills. Odenton has one of my favorite authentic Chinese restaurants; Grace Garden - Odenton, MD this place is awesome!
