Their kit uses Garrett internals, and their website has an area for asking questions.

Richard is no longer using Garrett center sections on his Stage I and Stage II kits. I believe he is now using Precision turbos (if memory serves) . . . either way, the turbo used on the Stage I kit is the same exact turbo used on the Stage II kit - the difference between the kits being the piggyback injectors.

So - in answer to the original question, the turbo used on the Stage I is capable of making between 425-450 RWHP, which puts slightly past what a GT28 would produce . . .

For some reason I am thinking it was a T3/4 variant but that might be wrong...

If I remember the few I've seen up close the rcc turbo is similar to a TO4E 50 trim turbo

Again, Richard at RCC changed the turbos that he is using - this was something that happened in the last few months, so anything you may have seen is probably different. And yes, the turbo used in the Stage 1 kit is the SAME as the turbo in the Stage 2 - he did this purposely so that people could get over 400 RWHP just by upgrading the fuel system down the road . . .

so does anyone just use larger primary injectors and a reflash to tune a turbo'd busa? all this talk of secondary injectors, i don't know if i'd want to bother with that. wouldn't it be easier just to run larger injectors?

I have one of these newer turbos on my stage 1. If your only doing 6# the stock injectors work just fine, that is how mine is set up. Scott Horner uses S2000 injectors and a reflash of the ecu for a simple stage 1 to reduce the duty cycle on the injectors.

We have already done that for one of the Real Street competitors - they are only allowed to run four injectors. We installed 65# injectors, reflashed the stock ECU, used a recalibrated FMU (3:1), the PCIIIUSB powercommander with the dynojet hub and GM map sensor. This bike runs beautiful on the street and makes over 400 rear wheel . . .

You still need a fmu to be able to go from 45# off boost to 85ish# when on boost.

A rising rate fuel regulator works great when it is properly installed and the tuner knows what he is doing. You need the higher fuel pressure on top, over and above what a 1:1 regulator supplies, in order to adequately fuel a turbo bike with only four injectors - that is, unless you want to spend big $$$ for a standalone!

Has anyone tried the URD six injector controller? It runs up to six injectors based on rpm and manifold pressure. It only needs a boost signal, a +, a -, and a rpm signal. It cost $199.
