Before the chain ever gets to the fairings.....ITs into the FRAME. Most all the 240 kits do use an offset front sprocket that DOES push the chain into the frame....requires grinding of the inside edge of the frame at the chain to clear. IF offset any more = more grinding, unsafeley grinding into the integritty of the frame itself. The best you may find center will still be 1/8 - 1/4 off center to the right. A jackshaft set up will put dead center but that with a 300 or larger fatty.

i knew about the whole jack shaft thing for the really big tires, but i don't want a 300, 330, or 360mm rear.

Then 1/8 - 1/4 off of center then you will be. ITs only a visual thing, everyone I know with 240 loves them and does NOT notice any issues when riding.

This kit looks and sounds amazing! I will be bookmarking this for future referance. I probably won't stretch and 240 my K8 until next year. I'd like to drop it a couple inches also, but isn't totally necessary.

From what I understand, 240 is the biggest most go before the chain angle is... noticeably off? Is this correct? I think 240 would be a fairly decent medium between going wide for traction, but not compromising a lot of cornering ability. How does everyone else feel about that?

Also, 4" vs 6". What's your experience and opinions on the two lengths?

Do you feel a drop is more asthetically appealing than practical?

My K8 is running stock power and Hotbodies slip-on "megaphones".

Thanks in advance!

What do you mean chain angle is off. IF you ran a chain at an angle...= front sprocket NOT inline with the rear sprocket.....you will have issues down the road. Both sprockets and chain will be destroyed in no time. The 240 kits have an offset front sprocket to have all of it in line with the 240 rear. Clearing the frame is what keeps it offset from center some.

As for stretchin 4-6 inches...dont think you will notice any diff between the two, well unless you a female

Ok, I should have deduced the offset sprocket from the posts. It was obvious once you stated it. (Yes, I am a novice rider/bike modder). I like the look of the 6" so I don't think the difference (probably so minimal I wouldn't notice) won't matter once I hit the strip.

Thanks for the reply BigRod... And I'm male.
