what is the best Steering damper weight oil ?

for years i have run my bike without the stock damper

i refitted by damper last month and remember it had a blend of 12.5wt oil (to run on top speed events the bike must be fitted damper if fitted as OEM)

but i now find in cooler weather the bike is too slow to turn. (7c 44F temp)

heavier weight does help in high speed straight line stability in cross winds

i was gonna refill with stock 2.5wt oil

question is what is the best weight of oil to use?

Easiest way is pump it a bunch to get all the old oil out then I submerged in a pale of 75-90 and pump it till no more air bubbles. You'll get air trapped doing it any other way.

Yes should be a hex head plug on the side of the damper.

I ditched the OEM damper on my Busa same time as I replaced the steering head bearings.
The first thing I noticed was it ran in a straight line and no more weaving left and right in the steering at slowish speeds.
Never had it fitted again, I do not think I could go back to slow steering.

I just got stock oil 2.5wt

Will fit at the weekend

There are too many curves here in UK
slow steering is dangerous at speed
