The most interesting trio........and pictures of our trip. 5200 miles and 22 states

What kind of tires on each bike, and how are they now with 5k+ miles?
3 weeks to tour on a bike with no set schedule sounds like a great time:beerchug:

I had Metzler Z8's on my bike, heavy tour with two up, they did great but definitely have a flat spot. Semi's tires hardly show any wear at all. I think he had an Angel on his rear.

edit by semi: i had a Pirelli Angel GT on the rear and a Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa front...this was my first time trying the GT and i love it, it seems to be a huge improvement over the ST! i'll try to remember to take some pics of them tomorrow, they have just over 5000 miles on them now

Naval Air Museum in Pensacola, wish I had two more days to spend there, way too much to see in one afternoon.

Now, the entire reason for the trip. Shawns retirement, I will try to put names to faces. From left to right, Doug King and his wife(Not Cap), twobrothersbusa and his wife, not sure about the lady on the right.

Great little trip you guy's had:thumbsup: I love a road trip:laugh: still sorting through my 3000 odd pics from our epic west coast adventure. Thanks for the share.

This was a very moving ceremony. Shawns mother and boys were presented with a certificate of appreciation for their sacrifice as the family. Most of us were in tears, wow....

And after Shawn was officially retired, he proposed to Dawn, and let me tell you, he surprised everyone, a well kept secret. Good job Sir. After everyone had a moment to take it all in, it was very silent in the room, and someone yelled, "What did she say"? We all got a good laugh at that one.

After the ceremony, we all relaxed for a while. We did some sight seeing and spent the day Saturday with Jet Li at the beach. I will have to upload my other camera to get those pictures. But I can say this Oklahoma boy CAN NOT surf. LOL. We dropped Juli off at the Pensacola airport as she to be back to work on Monday. Thank you Tom for the great day. This was the beginning of the "roast". It was a good time to hear all of Shawns family and the Men he worked with tell stories.
