I believe there are 3 options:
1. Take the stock seat cover off and shave an inch of foam off the top(it seems to be plenty thick to allow this, then recover it.
2. Buy an aftermarket custom seat, like a corbin, etc.
3. Lower your spring preload settings on the front and rear suspension enough to lower the bike an inch.

im wondering if there is an adjustment to lower seat height about an inch,without affecting handling,ride,etc. having a little trouble with balance when backing up. 1 inch lower would make it easier to move back
 
According to postings here, that's exactly what a corbin seat will lower you. (Are you a lady? you might be the only one, so watch out for "R" rated language).
