Hey Guys,
I just bought a 2005 Busa.... It has a screwed up seat lock... I want to replace it, any ideas on how to open the seat????
I was thinking of drilling it out...... What say ye.......

Copied and pasted a post from Sixpack.

If it's gen1, 99-07
Use a paint stick, or long screw driver.
Between passenger seat or hump and tail fairing, brake pedal/right side.
Push stick through gap.
Latch arm is on back side of bike, push it towards shifter side.
May take a few trys to get the latch arm, but it will push and open easily.

The lock was done.... Finally pulled the rear end off the bike, finally got to it.... Suzuki doesn't make it easy at all..... Time to order parts......
Thanks guys.........

When you got it apart, was the seat lock screwed up or was the cable unattached to the lock? That is a problem that is much more common than many of us would like to admit - but several of us (even me) have had a hump placed on the bike without the cable being reconnected.

Usually, the lock and cable just needs some maint/lube.

Looked like the cable was unhooked from the lock.... I pulled the cable and it came out... So, I have to replace the entire lock assembly...
Awesome....

Fixed the Lock today... Dang... Suzuki is proud of their parts.....
