Project Bike almost finished(pics)

Nice looking ride Gixx!

Hey, that edging around your windscreen looks awesome! I have the same screen I think. Can you give me an idea of where you got it and what its called please?

thanks

MaBusa, you local Auto parts store should have the same molding.Use a little bit of adhesive to apply it to the wind screen.

Gixxer Damn good looking paint job, making me want to buy carbon fairings. Im looking at approx 2k$ to replace mine that got trashed with factory , whats your opinion, and the difference in price?

Well Law Dog,This is not only a Street bike it's going to be a show bike when it's completed.I think carbon can be over done if is not done correctly.Showing the Carbon through the paint is the way to go.It takes weight off of the bike but it's very expensive.Once all of the Carbon and Chrome parts are done,Titanium axles and fasteners,Ohlin shocks, brembo brakes and Aftermarket wheels are coming.Quality Carbon is very worth it,just stay away from the cheap stuff.I would highly suggest having the Carbon clear coated if you decide not to paint it.UV rays and heat break the carbon down over a period of time and turns it brittle and a dull grey.

Maier Mfg. makes windscreen edging. I used it on a smoke ZG screen (Bandit) and it looked nice. It supposedly also reduces vibration and does something to help deflect wind but I didn't see any benefit in that regard. You can buy the stuff from www.denniskirk.com (probably other places too). It's inexpensive--I think I paid $8 for it.
