overfilling oil for storage-- good idea??

I think I once heard someone suggest that the crank case be filled to the cap for storage. Furthermore, store with cheap oil because you are going to dump all of it before you ride anyway.

It seems like this would eliminate as much condensation build up as possible. Can you see any problem doing this provided that the oil is drained and replaced with fresh oil to the proper level before start up?

Think it might leak??
 
Just make double sure that you don't start it like that. Put a piece of tape over the ignition switch that says "hey dummy, change the oil". :laugh:

Truer words were never spoken +1!!!

It is overkill, unless you plan on storing your bike for an extended period of time.

IF you plan on storing it for a prolonged period of time, you need to do a lot more than worry about your oil level.
