Ok... I never thought about this..I have just bought the parts I need for my bike according to the year..but how can I tell if my bike is a K7 or something like that? Is it on my VIN number?

10th Digit of the VIN is the only real reliable way to tell.

That is true; typically K7 would be slang for a 2007, the K standing for 2K... Many of the parts for a gen 1 will fit 1999 - 2007; but there are some specific differences... what are you trying to buy and from who?

Oh... deg.. I feel real stupid now. It seems that I spend so much time on this board I thought it meant something else. Like some special type or version of the gen 1. Not really looking for anything now... it was just a ? that was bothering me..
