Just thought I'd share that myself and a few guys are doing a U.P. tour over Memorial Day weekend if anyone out there would like to ride along for the whole weekend or just a day, etc....

We will be leaving Milwaukee early Saturday morning, and getting back home Monday late afternoon, early evening. Haven't finalized a route yet, but will most likely be a circle around the U.P. hitting Sioux locks, wind up in Copper Harbor, etc, etc.

Laid back, easy ride, there will be Harley's along with us. I had originally planned to camp at night, but the consensus is that people want to sleep in beds... :moon:

I'll update this as I get more info as far as a route or anything if ANYONE is interested, let me know! :beerchug:

wish i was off that weekend! i'm going to get up there and make that trip one of these days :beerchug: my tent and sleeping bag are ready for a couple good trips

Teaser... :)

Having a blast! Side note: my 2008 Busa has more of a touring range than a 2007 Harley Ultra Classic.

nice pics...wish i was there instead of here working!

Well, we got home at about 3 am this morning (last night  ) we decided to just haul the mail instead of wasting another night in a hotel, etc. We rode a TON on Sunday!! Thank GOD for my Corbin seat!

I learned many things on this trip. First things first, I learned that I need to stop putting off going to the doctor to have my hip looked at. I've had an issue with my hip/leg for quite a few months, and this trip really drove the point home that I need to get it fixed...

I also learned that I don't need a Concours. The Busa tours just fine! My neighbor rode along with us on his Ultra Classic, and the Busa had a longer touring range, and to be honest, he was complaining about comfort more than I was!

Another thing learned is communicators are a HUGE plus on a road trip!! Before the trip we bought a set of SENA SMH10 communicators (thanks Justin  )
THESE THINGS ROCK! I can't believe how good they sound! Last year on a trip with Lurch we used Chatterbox GMRS units and these Sena units BLEW them away! In every sense of the word! And at less than half the price!

Finally I learned to just do the trip no matter what the weatherman says! We were predicted to get rain ALL weekend. Basically the whole U.P. of Michigan was supposed to be wet all weekend.. We hit rain for the first hour of the trip (in Milwaukee) and after that had an absolutely gorgeous weekend. Couldn't have asked for better!

1056 miles, we left Saturday at 7 am, got back Monday morning, 3 am. :beerchug:

This was roughly our trip. Now keep in mind, we made it to Sault Ste Marie on Saturday night, then Sunday morning at 8am we left to go to Houghton/Gay ( ) and then all the way home.. Zzzzzz.. :D

Enough talk,

Wow! I used to live in Michigan (Detroit) for about 2 years. Still have family there. Maybe next year I can ride up and meet you guys somewhere. The UP is a really awesome place!!

Awesome we only had rain Sunday morning for about 3hrs and then nothing. Glad to hear you guys had fun.

When we left to see the Soo Locks Sunday morning, it was kind of sprinkling. Didn't last long at all, and soon it was just plain gorgeous! Even at 3am this morning it was like 75 degrees here! Couldn't have asked for nicer weather!

Just glad you enjoyed the U.P. its really beautiful up there. Most people think Michigan doesn't have anything to see when it really does.
