I have spent years on this site reading posts and researching everything from Tires to Aux fuel tanks and everything in between but yet I have done so silently without posting anything. I figure its about time I post some pics of the bike I have spent the past few years working on. The goal was to build a potent and competitive endurance bike that is not only functional but clean and custom.... oh yeah on a Busa platform! Here is where I'm at so far.

Yoshimura titanium exhaust
Clearwater Erica high beam
Morimoto HID low beam
6.15 Gallon custom fuel tank, 11.45 total
Throttlemeister bar ends
Heli-Bars
Lamm custom seat
SW-Motech tank bag
Suzuki double bubble windscreen
Galfer brake lines
Oxford heated touring grips
Levers & Pegs
PIAA horns
Sena 10u w/remote
First Gear wireless dual zone heat-troller
Valentine one w/bluetooth
Garmin Zumo 665
Pelican hard case
Ram mount clutch/brake
Many more odds and ends...

Great looking set up. Does your Valentine have built in bluetooth, or are you using other equipment?

The Bluetooth in not built in, its a Valentine made adapter that connects to the radar detector power supply. If you have an Android phone the YaV1 third party app is the best thing ever created. It will overlay all your radar detector info while it runs in the background giving you audible and visual warning along with a ton of other great stuff like battery voltage.

That sounds like what I have been looking for. To bad they don't make anything like that for my escort.

Sweet! I like the idea of keeping the bike 'slim'. I hate the look of bags on a Busa and a high top box hanging off the back really looks bad. Your setup is in keeping with the aeros the Busa is famous for. I too have a Throttlemeister with HD bar ends and a V1 with a 10 LED warning light setup cause I don't like earbuds anymore. It sits on a stem stand. It's saved me thousands over the years throughout eleven states. I've never had the need for an aux fuel tank and I wouldn't want the extra weight. Gas weighs a lot, plus I'm not into sitting on the bike for more than a couple hours w/o a break to swap out a piece of gum, take a drink or whatever. After eleven years I will be buying a new seat but surprisingly, the stock seat on the Busa was the only stock seat I've ever liked. I use a small tank bag and a 22" seat bag which holds enough for an extended tour. I've recently changed to Buell pegs too. Just remembered, I've had 1" mirror extenders since new as well as EBC HH brake pads and Galfer lines. I also have it wired for my heated gloves.

Wow!! Nice scooter! I like what you did with the ram mounts on the reservoirs.

Nice ride! I think the Laam custom seat is the best you can get, especially for the long distance stuff. I noticed a huge difference over stock. If your not going to far without stopping most seats will do. With the aux tank I can go 500 miles in the seat before a gas stop.

Thanks. It has nearly 65,000 miles on it and with Amsoil it's still like a new motor. Why in the world would you want to go 500 miles w/o stopping? I wouldn't want to do that in my supercharged Caddy! I'll look into Laam seats. I've had Corbin's on my CBXs with mixed results.

Thanks! Most of the bolt on stuff is pretty standard Busa upgrades. Except for the tank and the headlight, those were endless hours of fabrication. Especially that fuel tank, I wanted to carry extra fuel so I looked into everything from MSR bottles to big red gas cans. In the end I decided to go full retard and build the most custom and functional iron butt compliant tank I could come up with for a Busa.

Amazing work! I was wondering how you could fit so much gas in such small tank. :-)!! Now I see way. This takes the "trash can mod" to a whole new level.

Excellent workmanship.

Do you keep the Sena Remote mounted sideways instead of on the left hand grip? Just curious.

With all that nice work the only thing I think could have improved it would have been going the extra mile and putting an
electronic cruise control on a bike that has a 500 mile range. Then Gen II bikes seem to have no problems adding a cruise UNLIKE the Gen I
bikes, like I have do.

Thanks for posting - you did a great job making your bike - one of a kind.

I am not sure where he would mount the cruise unit considering his auxiliary fuel tank is using the space where most of us mount the electric unit. Guess he could go with the vacuum unit.

I tried the Sena Remote on the handle bar the way it was designed. I didn't like the ergonomics of it like that. I placed a small piece of velcro on it and put it horizontal on the the clutch master cylinder. It works fantastic that way. The ergonomics are perfect and it allows me to mount my wireless heat-troller just on top.

I had the throttlemeisters on my gen1 and liked them so I just went with those again. Hopefully the gen3 will have electronic cruise control built in!

As far as the tank, the goal was to carry 11.5 total gallons as low and forward as I could get and keep as much of the Busa aerodynamics and style as possible. I used up every possible square inch of space for fuel from the rear tail light to the battery. I ended up moving the ECM, rerouting the wiring and pretty much re-engineering the bike rear of the battery.

how much was your seat work please ? Stock pan reworked by lam ? Thanks in advance .
