Rcc intercooler...
The coolant loop isn't under pressure is it?
So I put a long coolant fill tube on it. This way it was easy to fill. Under heavy boost coolant is pushing out.
I'll put a better cap on it but I was under the assumption there should be no pressure?

simple question - what happens if water get heated ?

simple answer - it expands and if there is no space to expand, the pressure in the system rises rapidly.
Hi. I run water through mine from the electric watetpump. I am also thinking of using Co2 or nos to cool the intercooler, radio ant the heat exchanger for the 1 1/2 mile runs.

If you're getting hot enough to push coolant out of that intercooler I'd be very concerned .. Coolant, under pressure (there's no pressure cap on that intercooler, it's sealed tightly) shouldn't get hot enough to push with the intake air temperatures that the intercooler is designed to control .. If it's getting so hot that it's losing coolant the IAT's are going to be dangerously high inside it ..

My intercooler is just open to air... It doesn't get that hot to boil out.... Maybe I'm doing something wrong
