Hayabusa Meaning of Name???

Peregrin Falcon (from various sites):

Diet:
Variety of birds, including blackbirds, jays, swifts, doves, shorebirds, and songbirds

Interesting Facts:
Level flight speed exceeds 60 mph. Falcons strike their prey from above at great speed, and prey is either struck to the ground or killed instantly by the blow.

Peregrines can reach speeds close to 320 km-h (320 kph = 198.838782 miles per hour) in a downward dive. They use their speed and agility to catch birds in mid-air.

The bird in question preys on Blackbirds. It "swoops down and eats little blackbirds for lunch....." that is attributied to a Suzuki engineer being questioned about the name.
Right, it's a dig at Honda...

Yes. Dave Estok reported that the GSX-1300R was so aerodynamic that while top-speed testing for Bridgestone they had trouble getting a radar reading from the front, they could only read times from the rear as the rider passed by.
