GenII shock on GenI

There was a thread a couple weeks back about the compatibility of the rear shocks. Well I now have a GenII rear shock on my 06. They basically look the same, the reservoir cap is a little different, but other than that they're the same.

both shocks are the same size dont know why the genII shock looks so much bigger in the picture.

how much are the oem shocks ?

spring rate and length is different also...

I knew the spring rate was different, but not the length. I didnt measure the 2, and didnt notice a difference by looking at them. After it was on the bike I cold tell it was a little taller. I raised it a 1/2" with links some time last year and I could just barely flat foot it. Now Im on the balls of my feet. Makes it a little harder to move around while sitting on the bike, but feels so good once Im tossing it into a corner.

how much are the oem shocks ?

I found mine on ebay for $80 shipped
