Gen II and Brock's Dual CT

I installed the Brock's Dual CT yesterday and I am getting ready to install the Bazzaz O2 sensor and noticed that the Brock's factory O2 sensor hole points lateral to the rear wheel.
IS this correct? I was under the impression that the hole should point upwards? I think the sensor will be damaged by road debris...

Mine is the same way. I used brocks race map and they recomend useing the 02 simulator with thier race maps.
